Wayward Pines season 3 probably isn't going to happen
It has been two years since we had Wayward Pines season two, and we've not had any sort of confirmation of a third run.
While we've not had any official cancellation either, it seems pretty safe to assume that we won't be getting more of the supernatural show.
TVLine reports that the word going around Fox is the series is "unlikely" to return, although official representatives aren't saying anything.
Last July, Fox's president David Madden said that it "didn't know" about a third season, but was talking to M Night Shyamalan about the possibilities of what it could do.
After the second season shed more than a third of season one's viewership, we can imagine Fox was hoping that a third run would be smaller and cheaper.
It's nice that it didn't just cancel the show outright halfway through season two and pull the rest of the episodes from the schedule, but it would also be nice if it put fans out of their misery.
The show starred Matt Dillon, Carla Gugino, Terrence Howard and Toby Jones and focuses on the mysterious goings-on in a small Idaho town.
Shyamalan has a new project in the works for this year: Glass, a sequel to both the Bruce Willis and Samuel L Jackson-starring Unbreakable and Split, which has James McAvoy playing (at least) 23 different personalities.
