England and Wales will be mostly dry and breezy today with some sunny spells for the lucky few in the east of England.

Showers are likely in parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland and the far west of England - but they won't be as bad as yesterday when Northern England experienced heavy downpours and flash flooding, leaving commuters facing road closures and delays. West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service received 23 flood-related calls between 9am and 11am on Wednesday, mainly around Leeds.

It looks like the heavy rain will stay away for the Bank Holiday too. The Met Office says there will be plenty of warm sunshine this weekend, though perhaps a few showers on the way in places.

Here's a closer look at today's weather in key areas of Britain.
