Weather: Mild temperatures to return to UK as Easter weekend nears

The Met Office have said Britain can expect mild weather this weekend with temperatures reaching up to 13C (55F).

It marks a return to the spring weather that the UK enjoyed a few weeks ago.

The Met Office added that Saturday will start cool, with sunshine in the West, and cloud and showers over East Anglia.

Areas in the East will be slightly cooler, with temperatures of around 9C (48F) expected.

Sunday will see hazy sunshine and a chance of scattered showers.

Craig Snell, a forecaster at the Met Office, said: "We will lose the prolonged blue skies, and will see some sunshine.

"But towards the end of the day, there will be some rain reaching for the west of Cornwall and the western parts of Northern Ireland.

"Temperatures will slide to 10-12C [50-53.6F] in the West of the UK, whilst the East will increase to 8-10C [46.4-50F].

"It will be another chilly feeling day, but it won't be bad if you are under the sun."

By Wednesday next week, temperatures are expected to get as high as 16C (60.8), as we head into the Easter weekend.
