Jenna Ortega has shared a tribute to the original Wednesday Addams actress.

Lisa Loring, who played the character in sitcom The Addams Family, has passed away at the age of 64.

Jenna shared a series of pictures of the child actress on her Instagram Stories, writing: "Absolutely devastated. Thank you for everything."

Lisa was in the show from 1964 to 1966, being cast at just five years old.

Her daughter Vanessa Foumberg confirmed the sad news, saying she had passed away on January 28 from a stroke caused by high blood pressure.

"She went peacefully with both her daughters holding her hands," she told The Hollywood Reporter.

Lisa's close friend, Laurie Jacobson, also confirmed the news, and paid tribute to her in a social media post.

"It is with great sadness that I report the death of our friend, Lisa Loring," she wrote. "She had been on life support for 3 days. Yesterday, her family made the difficult decision to remove it and she passed last night.

"She is embedded in the tapestry that is pop culture and in our hearts always as Wednesday Addams."

Ortega, who plays Wednesday in the popular Netflix show of the same name, recently revealed she'd added a homage to the actress in one of her famous scenes. Fans spotted her briefly doing shuffle during the now-viral dance scene.

"I knew there were certain things I wanted to do. I paid homage to Lisa Loring, the first Wednesday Addams," she previously explained. "I did a little bit of her shuffle that she does. Of course, they cut out of camera when I did do it, but it’s there! I know it is!"

Wednesday is available to stream on Netflix now.
