Wednesday season 2 is on its way and stars Jenna Ortega and Emma Myers have given fans a taste of what to expect from their characters in this chapter.

Ortega and Myers shared a video rocking their Nevermore uniforms as Wednesday Addams and her peppy, optimistic roommate, werewolf Enid Sinclair, respectively.

The clip references a vaguely eerie trait that viewers identified in season one. It seems that during character prep, Ortega truly perfected Wednesday's withering stare as she's able to go a long time without blinking.

In the video, Myers, who sports a new hair colour as Enid, asks viewers to "watch [her] best friend". She then leaves to reveal Ortega sitting on some steps and staring directly into camera for what feels like an incredibly long time.

"First to blink is a rotten corpse," Wednesday's official Instagram account captioned the post.

Fans were impressed with Ortega's party trick, with one person writing: "We need to talk about how long Jenna can keep her eyes open for."

"And the award for best at not blinking goes to……" read another comment.

"She stared into my soul but overall behaved really well," someone else wrote, also praising Enid's blue and pink highlights.

And it seems that one of the Wednesday stars tried to beat Ortega at her own game. Victor Dorobantu, who plays Wednesday's loyal companion Thing, commented: "I didn't blink I swear" adding a crying smiling emoji.

The second instalment in the Tim Burton's series for Netflix treated fans to a sneak peek from set earlier this month.

A clip released by the streamer includes a camera shot of Ortega in which she wields a knife and declares: "Let's play dolls", while Catherine Zeta-Jones, who portrays her mum Morticia, teases this season would be "bigger" and "more twisted".

Season two sounds like it's definitely bigger in terms of cast, with more names joining in the macabre fun.

OG Addams Family star Christopher Lloyd is set to star, together with Scoop's Billie Piper, Fool Me Once's Joanna Lumley, Boardwalk Empire’s Steve Buscemi and Westworld’s Thandiwe Newton.

Rounding out the ensemble are Scream's Heather Matarazzo, Star Wars' Joonas Suotamo, The Kominsky Method’s Haley Joel Osment, Law & Order's Noah Taylor, Return to Silent Hill's Evie Templeton and The Handmaid’s Tale's Owen Painter.

Wednesday streams on Netflix. Season 2 is in production.
