The wee restaurant near Glasgow that's a treasure trove of over a thousand whiskies
The growth in whisky tourism has seen Glasgow begin to get a bit more traction when it comes to recognition for our contribution to Scotland's national drink.
From our new distilleries on both sides of the river Clyde to world-renowned pubs like the Pot Still, the Piper and the Bon Accord we've got lots to offer.
So you might be forgiven for thinking you wouldn't need to travel outwith the city, but actually, there is one hidden gem that lies just half an hour away (by train or by car) that's home to an Aladdin's Cave of whiskies.
The Artisan Restaurant in Wishaw has been described as "a superb find" by reviewers on Trip Advisor where diners rave about the whisky collection, cooking, service and value.

Others describe it as "one of the very best whisky bars in the world" thanks to its collection of over 1,300 whiskies.
Since opening in 2008, the restaurant which can be found on Main Street, Wishaw, has become a bit of a pilgrimage for whisky fans living in and visiting Glasgow.
Not only can they enjoy the seasonal menus offering Scottish cuisine "with a modern twist", and dishes featuring ingredients like Orkney whisky smoked salmon, Stornoway black pudding Aberdeenshire smoked haddock, and their own steamed Lanark haggis, there is also the grill with items like the 28-day aged sirloin steak and a plethora of burgers.
On the whisky side, guests can chat with the knowledgable staff, who are all trained whisky ambassadors to find the prefect drams to go with their meal as they peruse the epic array of bottles that they'll see on the shelves that line the walls in the restaurant.
Owner Derek Mather, who runs the business wth his wife Fiona, is a big fan of Bruichladdich, meaning he has some seriously great examples of this Islay distillery on offer, while there are loads of bargains to be found.
Open seven days a week from 12 until 10 pm, the bargains don't stop at the whiskies with dinner prices starting at just £14.95 for two courses or £15.95 for three.
