Major roadworks on the London Road/Midland Road junction in Derby will start on Monday, September 23.

The city council has announced it will be resurfacing the junction, as well as replacing the road markings and worn-out ironwork. The work will take around a week to be completed with the estimated finishing date stated as Monday, September 30.

The roadworks will take place between 8pm and 5.30am in order to avoid rush-hour traffic. To ease and help traffic the city council has offered an alternative route that takes motorists from Traffic Street to Station Approac, Pride Parkway, Harrow Street and then to London Road.

This has also meant that Arriva will not be able to run the same services as usual with changes to their usual routes. The routes affected include 1A and 1C and the services will not be able to serve any stops between Ascot Drive and Railway Terrace. Therefore the services will divert via Pride Park in both directions.
