At least five people were killed in the South of France on Sunday, December 1, amid widespread flooding. Of that total, three were aboard a helicopter that crashed on a rescue mission near Marseilles.
Also killed was a shepherd in the Var, whose 4×4 was swept away by floodwater, local news reports said. In the same region, the owner of a stables was found dead after he was swept off while checking on his animals.
