'Welfare incident' in Saltburn sparks 999 response with air ambulance called

Emergency services including the air ambulance were called to a 'welfare incident' on Tuesday morning.

Cleveland Fire Brigade, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Cleveland Police attended the area of Saltburn Road, at around 10.02am with video uploaded to social media showing the air ambulance over land near Huntcliff.

Footage also shows flashing lights as a fleet of 999 crews deal with the incident. Cleveland Fire Brigade has confirmed the call-out was a "welfare incident".

A spokesperson said: “Cleveland Fire Brigade were called to a welfare incident left in hands of police. One fire engine was in attendance from Saltburn. We got the stop at 10.44am.”

Yorkshire Air Ambulance also confirmed its attendance with a spokesperson saying: "Ambulance resources attended an incident."
