Well-loved Edinburgh chippy comes on market after 40 years serving punters

A beloved Duddingston chip shop which has been serving up fried treats for customers for four decades is looking for a new leaseholder.

Sam's Fry, located on Milton Road West, has been trading at the same spot for 40 years with a steady turnover. Those behind the business are looking to hang up the apron however 11 years remain on the current lease.

Rightbiz, which is advertising the property, said the weekly turnover is in excess of £8,000 with the annual rent £27,000. The current guide price for the leasehold is £130,000.

On the property, agents said: "Sam’s Fry occupies a highly visible trading location on Milton Road West, close to its junction with Duddingston Park and Duddingston Park South in the eastern suburbs of Edinburgh. Milton Road West forms part of the main A1 routing which starts in Edinburgh city centre and ends 440 miles to the south in London.
