New wellness retreat featuring two hotels, a spa and restaurants to open in Yorkshire

A new wellness retreat featuring two hotels and a spa will open in North Yorkshire later this year.

The picturesque town of Whitby, and the quaint village of Sandsend, in North Yorkshire, are known by many as the jewel in the crown of the Yorkshire Coast. In September, new venture Saltmoore will launch there.

It will be a wellness-led retreat in what was formerly Raithwaite Sandsend. Saltmoore will comprise two new hotels with 72 bedrooms in total. There will be a state-of-the-art spa and a variety of dining options.

Saltmoore will come from O’Shea Group and Galliard Homes. Saltmoore will be headed up by general managers Peter Boyle and Jayne Cartwright. In a statement, announcing the opening, they said: “We are excited to be working with such a pioneering brand to bring a new level of luxurious, yet laid-back accommodation to North Yorkshire. Saltmoore has provided over 150 jobs to the local community, and we look forward to working with our talented team to welcome guests to this beautiful part of the world.”
