A group of sheep who accidentally ate some cannabis plants reportedly went on a “psychotic rampage” through a quiet a village in Wales.

The animals came across the plants in Rhydypandy in the Swansea valley when they were dumped there after being used at an illegal cannabis factory.

Locals soon witnessed the sheep acting bizarrely - breaking into homes and getting run over and killed by cars while they wandered around.

County councillor Ioan Richard said: “There is a flock of sheep roaming the village causing a nuisance.

“They are getting in people’s gardens and one even entered a bungalow and left a mess in the bedroom.”

There are now concerns that more sheep will come across the remains of the factory and also eat their way through the batch of plants.

He added: “I dread to think what will happen if they eat what could well be cannabis plants - we could have an outbreak out of psychotic sheep rampaging through the village.”

A Swansea Council spokesman would not confirm whether the sheep had eaten cannabis but said that they had acted to remove the plants.

He added: “The fly-tipped waste has now been removed, but we’d urge anyone with information about who may be responsible to contact either ourselves or South Wales Police.”
