Wendy's shares exact date it will open its new restaurant in Colchester High Street

American fast-food chain Wendy's has announced the exact date it will open its new restaurant in an Essex high street - and it's soon. The restaurant in Colchester High Street will be opening next Thursday (November 28).

Wendy’s re-entered the UK market in 2021 and now has more than 30 locations across the country. This is the fourth Wendy’s restaurant to open in Essex, with other successful openings in Chelmsford and Southend, where fans queued around the block to get a taste of Wendy’s.

Wendy's say everything is prepared fresh with high-quality ingredients that are locally sourced whenever possible. Wendy’s iconic square hamburgers are made with fresh British beef , and its chicken products use all fillet chicken . Wendy’s salads are also prepared fresh daily, and sandwiches are served hot off the grill. All menu items are made-to-order and customisable.

The high street restaurant will be the second Wendy's in Colchester, with a successful restaurant already operating at the Northern Gateway Leisure Park next to the A12 and Colchester United Football Ground. The grand opening celebrations for the new venue will kick-off from 10.30am.

Those who get down early can grab Dave’s Single, which is made with a quarter pound of beef for free for the first 30 customers. Famous items from Wendy's include the Baconator burger, the Spicy Chicken Sandwich and nuggets. Their Frostys desserts have also gained popularity in the UK.

The latest edition of the menu is The French Onion Cheeseburger, which features beef, caramelised onions, creamy mayo, and crunchy fried onions on a brioche-style bun – a delicious twist on French onion soup. The Frozen Hot Chocolate Frosty blends the "iconic" Frosty with hot chocolate sauce and fluffy mini marshmallows for the ultimate winter indulgence. For breakfast, the Egg Double Stack packs two freshly cracked eggs, melty American cheese, and a toasted buttered bun.
