‘I went to the cute Essex café where you can make unlimited jewellery for £10’

Moroccan Corner Café in Walthamstow is not your typical coffee shop. As you step inside, you won’t see tables full of people sipping on their coffee; instead, they are focused on crafting their own jewellery.

This unique family-run business has gained a loyal following over the years. On weekends, every single table is booked, and even when I visited on a Friday evening, there was no space for walk-ins.

For £10, you get 90 minutes to create as much jewellery as you like, from bracelets to necklaces, and phone charms. It’s a great activity to just focus on one thing and relax.

Ready at your table, there’s a tray of beads and a simple guide on how to bead. At the front of the café, there’s a ‘creative station’ with even more supplies.

Beads come in every colour, shape, and size, including letters, in case you want to write your name. All materials - like clasps, string, and scissors - are included, so you can focus on being creative.

I made a cute ombré bracelet in my favourite colours and a pink phone charm on my first try. Even as a beginner, I felt it was well worth the money and incredibly satisfying.

The café isn’t just about crafting though, it’s also a haven for Turkish food lovers. Their mezze menu is a must-try, with everything freshly made.

The cheese pastries with sweet chili dip were my favourite, and the pita bread with hummus is a generous, well-seasoned treat. Everything tasted homemade and comforting.

For drinks, there’s something for everyone: tea, coffee, milkshakes, and more. I opted for a green smoothie, which was both healthy and refreshing.

Their homemade sweet treats, baked by the owners’ mom, are the perfect way to end your visit. The mini apple biscuits were my personal highlight - they tasted like a warm hug.

The owners have no plans to expand. Instead, they’re focusing on collaborating with other brands to do workshops for events like team-building sessions.
