I headed down to Morridge on a wet and windy Wednesday afternoon to check it out myself. The coffee shop is fairly small, but has a nice relaxing atmosphere and it was very busy when I popped in.
Of course, you can choose from a collection of porridge options, such as honey, sultanas and cinnaman, plum and apple or pumpkin puree. There are also granola options as well as some pancakes to choose from.
I opted for the cheese ploughmans sandwich for £6.75, but turned this into a meal deal by including a cappuccino and salted crisps which cost just over £9 in total.
Taking a seat upstairs, I had to wait around 15 minutes for the food as it was a busy lunchtime, but it’s decent value. The sandwich was delicious and it’s easy to see why the coffee gets rave reviews.
It’s a cosy little cafe tucked away in Birmingham, and the retro decor compliments the relaxing music upstairs. Morridge is definitely the ideal location for a lunchtime coffee with friends.
