I went to Liverpool ONE Zara and one thing blew my mind in its new ladieswear section

I visited Zara this morning as it reopened its ladieswear section following a huge expansion to the Liverpool One store. The store has new facilities and technology in place, and has jumped in size from 27,000 sq ft to 42,000 sq ft. The men's and kidswear departments are set to reopen later on in the year.

I did a Facebook Live on our page to show shoppers the impressive redesign. There were multiple new features that impressed me, but one stood out above the rest.

From the outside, shoppers will be able to see the change in style instantly, as Zara now has a stone entranceway. The interior is much brighter, and new perfume and shoe sections make the shop feel more spaced out.

As I am autistic, I quite often find shopping to be a stressful experience, so I really liked that there are newly installed self-service checkouts for customers to use.

There is a 'customer point' where a member of staff will always be on hand to assist, which will help shoppers to find items as quickly and efficiently as possible. Shoppers can return items via a self-service area.

My favourite part by far was when I went to look at the new and improved fitting rooms. There are over 30 of them in the top right hand corner of the store. While this is good in itself, the screen next to the entrance is game-changer to the shopping experience.

Shoppers waiting in the fitting room queue will be asked to scan the tags of their clothes on a screen, where the system will identify the items of clothes they wish to try and allocate them a fitting room.

On my Facebook Live, I likened it to waiting at the checkouts in Primark when the screen tells you which booth to go to. I was told by staff that the automated fitting room system is brand new in the UK, and it certainly seems like a game-changer for shoppers.

All of the changes that Zara have made in the time they were closed are all to assist customers. For me in particular, I find shopping to be pretty stressful and I'm always keen to get in and out as quickly as possible, but the Zara revamp has made changes that are customer-friendly and a cut above the rest.
