'I went to one of the UK's best steakhouses - and it had an unusual twist'
What's your go-to cuisine when you're in the mood for a culinary treat? With an abundance of options available, it can be hard to find a place that truly stands out.
This is particularly true when it comes to steakhouses. However, I recently had the pleasure of dining at Macellaio RC, which boasts locations in Soho, South Kensington and Exmouth Market in London.
Macellaio RC presents itself as a fusion of Italian 'theatre' and British classics. The restaurant prides itself on its use of traditional Italian cooking methods, with a particular focus on thinly sliced topside of the globally acclaimed Fassona Piemontese beef, reports the Express.

This special breed of cattle hails from the mountain valleys of North Genoa and is known worldwide for its lean meat. Naturally, I had high expectations for the quality of the beef.
The Fassona Piemontese beef is often considered superior in taste to Wagyu or corn-fed USDA beef, due to its melt-in-the-mouth texture.
The beef we were served was not only tender and juicy, but also boasted a subtle richness in flavour.
One of the most memorable aspects of the meal was the lit beef dripping candle, which may not be to everyone's taste.
While the candle added a theatrical element to the meal, it did leave a somewhat greasy aftertaste.
However, the meal took an unexpected turn as the beef was paired with a British twist - sides of bone marrow, roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables and, of course, gravy.
Each side dish was delightful in its own right, with the bone marrow standing out as a truly underrated ingredient.
The team at Macellaio RC were hospitable and shared their expertise about the origins of their ingredients.
Fassona's history can be traced back to the Palaeolithic era in 1856. The cattle are traditionally well-cared for and reared on small farms, which is evident in the flavour.
At Macellaio RC, they purchase cows that are four years old or older, which are then dry-aged and butchered on-site.
This adds an extra touch of uniqueness to the dining experience at Macellaio RC.
