Prison Break is back – but could it return for more beyond this season?
Wentworth Miller has discussed the possibility of a sixth season again to Entertainment Weekly, saying that he would love to play Michael Scofield for another run... if the story was right.
"I wouldn't rule it out," he said. "I feel like there's more story there and now we're talking about multiple generations.
"There are a lot of different directions that we could go, but I'm not in favour of exploring any of that unless there's something awesome that we can sink our teeth into."
However, that's not to say Michael is safe.
"No-one is safe," Miller added. "That's always been part of the show's appeal.
"We will kill someone off. That is good TV. That does make for gripping storytelling.
"Is there a happy ending this time around? Happy as Prison Break would define 'happy ending'.
"What does happen, where we do find these characters at the end of these nine episodes, is somewhere that feels right and earned and satisfying."
But Prison Break creator Paul T Scheuring recently said that he would "bet against" a season six.
"The reason I signed on to do this [fifth] season was because I know where the season ended," he said. "I couldn't tell you another story about this group of people.
"Maybe somebody else can, or by accident I'll somehow, possibly, dream up another prison escape that's new and fresh, but I would bet against it."
Prison Break airs on FOX.
