We’re going to enjoy an unusually warm start to October

It’s almost October, there are leaves on the ground, and conkers have begun to fall from the trees.

But the temperatures aren’t dropping just yet - we’re set to be in for one of the warmest starts to an Autumn month next week, as temperatures climb to more than 20C.

Earlier this month, Britain experienced the hottest September day on record, with temperatures hitting a balmy 34.4C degrees on September 13.

Now, it seems like October won’t be too different either.

A Met Office forecaster told The Mirror: ‘Even though this weekend and the beginning of October next week will see nothing like the 34C heat of a few weeks ago, next week will be fairly pleasant for the time of year. We expect to see temperatures breaking above 20C.’

Being Britain, however, it won’t last - and showers are expected too.

‘There will be quite a few showers, so it will not feel particularly warm’, the forecaster added.

In short, it might be your last chance to catch the rays this year - but we wholeheartedly advise taking a raincoat with you too.
