In 2005, the TV personality was sentenced to five months in prison in West Virginia for lying to authorities in regards a stock trade case. Following her time in jail she was ordered to complete five months of house arrest.

In 2007, Paris Hilton was sentenced to 45 days in prison for driving without a license on two occasions. However, she only served three days in prison and completed the rest of her sentence under house arrest due to medical reasons.

In 2008, rapper T.I. was sentenced to undefined time in prison, 1,500 hours of community service and one year of house arrest. He was found guilty of possession of firearms and unregistered machine guns one year before.

NFL star Mike Vick was sentenced to 23 months in prison, due to his participation in a dogfighting operation at his Virginia home. However, he was allowed to serve part of his sentence under house arrest, due to prison overcrowding.

In 2003, singer Bobby Brown was ordered to serve nine days more in jail, following his arrest for violating his probation from a drunken driving conviction, which sentenced him to 14 days behind bars. Brown was then ordered to serve nine more days in jail, plus 60 days under house arrest.

In 2006 the rapper was sentenced to one year in prison for lying to a grand jury in regards of a shooting that had taken place in New York City. After 10 months behind the bars, she was allowed to finish her sentence under house arrest.

In 2011. actress Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to serve house arrest for 120 days, following a jewelry theft conviction. Lohan was initially to serve time in prison in Los Angeles, but the facility was overcrowded.

In 2009, the filmmaker was arrested in Switzerland for his alleged assault of an underage girl in the late 70s. While Swiss authorities decided whether he was going to be extradited to the United States, he was sentenced to serve house arrest.

In 2015, ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ star was sentenced to 15 months in prison after being founded guilty for fraud. After serving nearly 12 months in jail she was released but ordered to remain under house arrest the rest of her sentence.

In 2013, the R&B singer was sentenced to three months in prison for not paying income taxes. Later on, she was sentenced to spend three more months under house arrest, followed by nine months of supervised release.
