Democratic gubernatorial candidate for Maryland Wes Moore declared electoral victory over Republican incumbent Gov Larry Hogan on Tuesday, November 8.

When officially confirmed, Moore will become Maryland’s first black governor.

“Thank you, Maryland!” Moore wrote on Twitter. “What an amazing night, and what an improbable journey. I am grateful to every one of you for the hard work you put in to make tonight happen.”
