Chelsea’s shock home loss to Arsenal in midweek has blown the top four race wide open once again, and Liverpool’s 4-2 victory at Manchester United on Thursday night has given Jurgen Klopp’s Reds hope of a late push.
Liverpool sit fifth in the table, four points behind Chelsea with a game in hand, and six off Leicester. Given Chelsea and Leicester face each other next week, dropped points for either club - or both - could allow the current champions to steal in and snatch a top four spot.
However, Liverpool know that nothing less than three wins from their remaining three games will do - and while Sam Allardyce’s already-relegated West Brom looks an inviting game on paper, the Baggies have nothing to lose... and a recent 5-2 win at Chelsea shows they have enough more than talent to trouble Klopp’s defence.

West Brom vs Liverpool team news
While Liverpool still have a lengthy injury list, they have won their last two games with Diogo Jota starting. Sadio Mane was the fall guy at Old Trafford and reacted angrily to an attempted fist-bump from Klopp at full-time, so the Senagal star could once again be on the bench as Jota plays with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, who also scored in Manchester.
With Liverpool on a rare winning streak this season, Klopp may not want to change too much regarding his back line - or his starting lineup in general - with centre-backs Nathaniel Phillips and Rhys Williams rallying well after conceding early on at Old Trafford.
Liverpool predicted XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Williams, Robertson; Thiago, Fabinho, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Jota
Liverpool provisional squad: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, R Williams, Phillips, Robertson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Thiago, Salah, Firmino, Mane, Adrian, N Williams, Koumetio, Tsimikas, Jones, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jota, Shaqiri, Woodburn.
West Brom vs Liverpool prediction
This could be an open game with West Brom looking to go down swinging. There should be goals at each end, but it’s hard to look past Liverpool given what’s riding on this result for them.
