West Ham fans told to stop ringing 999 after more calls are made following Watford defeat

Police have ordered angry West Ham fans to stop calling 999 to complain about their team after their latest loss to Watford.

David Moyes took charge of his first game in charge of the east Londoners on Sunday but was unable to make an impact at Vicarage Road as Marco Silva’s men ran out 2-0 winners.

Will Hughes and Richarlison got the goals to ensure the gloom is still lingering around the Hammers after a disastrous start to the campaign under Slaven Bilic.

Disillusioned West Ham supporters have been dialling the emergency services to vent their frustrations at recent results and the Essex Police Force Control Room has warned them not to continue dialling the number.

A tweet from the @EPControlRoom account read: “Ringing 999 because @WestHamUtd have lost again and you aren’t sure what to do is not acceptable! It is a complete waste of our time. #999foremergencies only.”

West Ham continue their fight against relegation in Moyes’ first home fixture this Friday when Leicester City head down to the London Stadium for a televised game.
