West Ham United have only lost one Premier League game since the turn of the year and that improved form has left them on the verge of the Champions League spots, in stark contrast to Tottenham Hotspur, who are down in ninth after a very poor run of their own.

Those two teams meet on Sunday, with the Hammers at home and looking to extend their run of just one loss in the last 10 league games. Spurs, on the other hand, have lost four of the last five, including all three against supposed top-four rivals Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City.

Those losses have left Jose Mourinho’s side well outside the race for Champions League action next term, so a return to winning ways is a must if they want a strong end to the campaign to yield a return to Europe’s elite.

For now, they can look to a Europa League victory in midweek as a confidence booster, particularly with Gareth Bale’s return to some sort of form there after a disappointing loan spell so far.
