Edinburgh Live spoke with dad Pete Fleming, the owner of the blue Ford Transit van, and he revealed around £30,000 worth of tools were inside the vehicle at the time it was taken.

His family is devastated as he and his brother Charlie had just launched their own mechanics business, Autofix Brothers, which has been put on hold due to the theft.

Detective constable Jason Watt said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish whether the thefts are linked.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything to contact us.

“We also ask anyone with private CCTV of the areas at the time to come forward.
