West Lothian M8 crash blocks carriageway and triggers delays as traffic builds

West Lothian M8 motorists were warned of delays on Sunday afternoon following a collision on the carriageway.

Traffic Scotland took to X, formally known as Twitter, to warn drivers of delays after the crash at around 12.40pm on June 23 on M8 J3-3A Livingston Westbound.

The exact number of vehicles involved in the crash has not been confirmed and is it not yet know whether there have been any injuries.

Drivers have been told to "approach with caution" with a delay time of seven minutes at 12.55pm. One lane of the carriageway was closed.

Traffic Scotland wrote on X: " #M8 J3-3A Livingston Westbound

"Reports of an Road Traffic Collision on the M8 westbound between 3 and 3a. Traffic is starting to build so approach with caution".

Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
