West Midlands Ambulance Service has released a statement after a man died following a fall from a block of flats in Coventry. Police confirmed a 46-year-old man fell from a balcony in Longfield House on Bell Green Road.

The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious, according to West Midlands Police, who said it would be referred to the coroner.

West Midlands Ambulance said they were called by the police at 1.37pm on Saturday September 21 to the site. Two paramedic officers, two ambulances, a specialist paramedic and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended the scene.

They confirmed one man was in a critical condition after falling from height and that he’d received advanced life support by the team of ambulance staff. “Sadly, despite their best efforts, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased on scene”, a West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said.

A nearby resident told CoventryLive it's an upsetting experience, adding "I saw the rescue helicopter land."
