A461 Duncan Edwards Way 40-hour closure warning due to highway maintenance

A busy A-road in the Black Country will close over five nights whilst highway maintenance work is carried out. Drivers have been warned that diversions will be in place whilst work takes place on the A461 Duncan Edwards Way.

Dudley Council says the dual A-road will be closed from 7pm to 3am each evening, from Wednesday, June 19, to Monday, June 24. The road will be closed from Cinder Bank Island to Flood Street Island, around 0.7 miles in total.

The A-road is used by motorists travelling from the Netherton and Pensnett areas of the borough. A spokesperson for Dudley Council said: "Motorists are advised that Duncan Edwards Way will be closed to traffic (from Cinder Bank Island to Flood Street Island) from Wednesday June 19 to Monday June 24 from 7pm to 3am each evening.

"All traffic will be diverted via Flood Street, King Street, and Bowling Green Road. The restrictions are required to safely facilitate carriageway maintenance."
