PD Buzz once helped to locate a drink-driver hiding in bushes and detain an offender armed with a crowbar in the West Midlands. He was said to have formed an 'incredible bond' with his handler PC Thompson.
West Midlands Police said they were 'deeply saddened' at his tragic passing on Sunday, September 15. PC Thompson described PD Buzz as 'the perfect balance of a police dog with hilarious quirks and a loveable family pup.'
Inspector Leanne Chapman, from the Dog Unit, said: “Buzz was a fantastic police dog and did all of us at WMP proud, but especially his handler Matt. Police dogs are an incredible asset to our police force, and their skills are unmatched. Buzz will be missed.”
