Westlife And Boyzone Join Forces For New Supergroup

Our 90s hearts are brimming with joy right now, as Boyzone’s Keith Duffy and Westlife’s Brian McFadden have announced they’re teaming up to form a new supergroup - Boyzlife.

While it’s just the two of them for now, they’ve hinted that the other band members could join them in the not too distant future (YES PLEASE).

The Sun reports that the venture was Keith’s idea, and will see them performing a mix of both bands’ huge hits. They added that they even discussed the idea at Ronan Keating’s wedding.

Brian told the paper: “We all had a chat, the lads. We said it would be amazing. Not even just performing together, but can you imagine the craic? Nine of us Irish lads on a tour bus together, going round the world together.

“It would be absolute carnage. We all get on so well so you never know. We would have so much fun on tour. We could end up adding more people to the next one. Right now this is about me and Keith but the door is always open.”

Not ruling out extra Boyzlife adventures, he continued: “I’m sure that if that ever did happen we’d make new music. Westlife have had 14 No1s, Boyzone have had nine or ten. There’s a lot of material we could perform.

“But we wouldn’t want to tour old music all the time. We love making music.”

Keith added that it ‘might end up on TV and we’ll record a documentary of it’, saying: “There’s no limit to this. We’re going out there with our ears and eyes open.”

Brian left Westlife in 2004, while Keith was in Boyzone from 1993-2000. The group later reformed in 2008.

Boyzlife will head out on a 12-date tour of the UK in October, with tickets fully on sale from 9am on March 8 (a pre-sale has already started).

See. You. There.
