Westlife singer Brian McFadden has refused to talk about Kerry Katona in a new BBC Documentary, Boybands Forever. The popstars first began dating in 1999 when they were both in the spotlight and married in 2002.

The former Atomic Kitten singer was married to Brian for four years after they tied the knot in a grand ceremony at Slane Castle Rathfeigh, Ireland, in 2002, before going their separate ways in 2004. They have two children together, daughters Molly, 23 and Lilly 21.

In the BBC documentary, the interviewer asked Brian "So what about marring Kerry". The boyband member pulled a face before responding "I don't want to talk about her."

The surprised interviewer added "do you not?" which led to a blunter response from Brian, he laughed and said "Definitely f*****g not." There was a period of silence in the documentary following this conversation and an awkward moment where Brian whistled to fill the tension. Brian began mimicking the journalist crossing out questions from their list which led to an outburst of laughter from the camera crew.

In her exclusive column for OK! Magazine last year, the 44-year-old from Warrington said: "I saw that Gary Lineker recently went on holiday with his ex-wife Danielle Bux as friends - I've never managed to stay that close with any of my exes! I would have loved to have been like that with my first husband Brian and our children, to have been more supportive of each other.

"I've never been able to remain friends with any of my exes but I think it's a nice thing to be able to co-parent like that. It's a bit like Demi Moore and Bruce Willis' relationship – I love that dynamic and how they can still be friends despite being split up."

The former singer has opened up on her split from Brian previously, Speaking on Slingo's Getting Lippy Gossip Show in 2023, Kerry said: "You can't force somebody to love you if someone falls out of love with you. It took me a long time to get over this but if somebody doesn't want to be with you can't force them to stay with you and Brian didn't want to be with me. I think after he first cheated on me on his stag do you know the trust had just gone."

Brian is now engaged to Danielle Parkinson and the pair share a three-year-old daughter, Ruby. And Kerry has just split from her fiancé Ryan Mahoney. She said: "We are no longer together and it's been a really tough week - I never in a million years thought this would happen. Without going into too much detail, there has been a breach of trust between us."
