Westminster was lit up by powerful slogans to mark the start of International Women’s Day with pro-female messages projected onto the side of the Houses of Parliament.

Huge projections of various slogans and quotes were shone out into the dark overnight on March 7 to mark the start of the global day of celebration.

Phrases such as “you are more than enough” and “press on for progress” were emblazoned across the London landmark in various languages.

One picture referenced American poet and activist Maya Angelou, whose poetry collection And Still I Rise speaks of overcoming gender and racial discrimination.
