Westworld is shaping up to be a whole different show in season two.

Executive producer Lisa Joy gave away a big spoiler about the next season of HBO's sci-fi hit, saying that while the first season was told through multiple timelines, that won't be the case anymore.

"I think as with season one, any basic different timelines were rooted in what the characters were going through. At that point, it made sense to do multiple timelines," she told TV Insider.

"I think we'll experiment in different point of views and different angles. You don't necessarily want to repeat the same thing."

The change could mean that season two will be a lot less confusing than the timey-wimey first run, but we're sure creator and showrunner Jonathan Nolan will confuse us in a different way.

Could that be through the different levels of the park that were teased in the first season?

"I think we imagined with the show, it would be a slow and steady pullout [of what's going on]," explained Nolan.

"The first season would be a glimpse of the world, and as the seasons go on, you see a little bit more as our hosts come to understand what the real world is."

He recently revealed that he's already had to change one of the major twists he had planned for Westworld's second season after fans had "already figured [it] out".

Two of the first season's guest stars – Talulah Riley and Louis Herthum – have been promoted to series regulars for the second season, which is due to air in 2018.
