Westworld season three is quite a way away, with filming due to start next month. We still don't know too much about what to expect, but it looks like one character (or at least incarnation of that character) won't be making a comeback.

Jimmi Simpson, who plays William/the younger version of the Man in Black in the HBO show, has admitted that he hasn't been asked back for the third season.

TheWrap quotes the Herbie: Fully Loaded actor as saying: "I believe for now, Young William, his story is less of a focus (in season three)." The publication asked him to clarify the comments, where he said: "I feel like I can officially say that I have not been invited (back for season three)."

It may not be surprising, since Simpson went from a main role in season one to a guest in season two. Plus, it doesn't mean the character can't return in the future, and he has said he is "always" open for a return.

As well as confirming filming would begin in March, HBO has stated that season three will not air until 2020.

The third run of the show is set to feature a new cast member in Aaron Paul, while returning cast members have reportedly negotiated some pretty large pay rises.

Westworld airs on HBO in the US and Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK.
