Wetherspoon making major change affecting every pub - 'customers won't be happy'
Wetherspoons is stopping selling one of its most popular products leaving some staff fearing they'll be left dealing with disappointed customers. Workers at the pub chain have been told it will no longer be selling San Miguel in all pubs by the end of November.
Instead it is going to switch to a different product which will cost less than £4 a pint in most pubs. And it will be just £3.20 under its cheaper "Monday club" price.
The replacement lager is the Italian Poretti. Staff have been told the brew has "lots of heritage" and dates back to 1877.

But one customer who was told the news when they ordered their usual pint of San Miguel said they told the bar staff of their disappointment. And they said the worker had said they feared they would be fending off similar comments once the change had taken place.
The customer said: "I always have San Miguel so told them I wasn't happy. The barman said he wasn't surprised.
"He said it was one of their best-selling drinks and 'doesn't fancy' having to deal with all the complaints that they are going to get."
San Miguel is a Filipino pale lager and the flagship beer of the San Miguel Brewery. The brewery was founded in San Miguel, Manila in 1890 under a Spanish Royal Charter. It is one of the most popular beers in Britain.
Poretti is an Italian lager made by the Birrificio Angelo Poretti brewery which was founded in 1877 by Angelo Poretti. According to the Tesco website it is: "a full flavoured Italian lager beer, characterised by a pillowy white head, brilliant clarity, and refreshing taste".
