If you’ve ever sent a message and then thought, ‘What have I done?’ a couple of seconds later, you probably wished for an ‘unsend’ button.

WhatsApp has just unveiled a new feature which does exactly that (although there are a couple of restrictions).

The ‘Delete for Everyone’ feature, shown off in a preview version of WhatsApp, only works for messages sent within the last five minutes – and which no one has opened.

The feature works for any kind of WhatsApp message including texts, images, GIFs, videos and Status replies.

The information was revealed in a ‘beta’ test of upcoming WhatsApp software, as seen by WhatsApp leaker WABetaInfo.

WABetaInfo says the servers used to ‘unsend’ messages are already working – hinting that the feature may roll out in the near future.
