Where can you find the best Sunday dinner in Newcastle? Vote for your favourite
With the days growing shorter and the weather turning increasingly autumnal, there's no better time to cosy up in a warm restaurant and tuck into a hearty Sunday lunch.
And if you're in or around Newcastle, you're spoiled when it comes to your venue of choice for a roast dinner, with a number of popular pubs, bars, restaurants and cafes offering up their own spin on the tradition.
Earlier this week, the owner of the beloved Earl of Pitt Street confirmed that the pub will stay open following concern over it being put up for sale. The city centre gastropub has cemented itself as a real favourite with locals and visitors to the city over the last decade, with diners flocking there every weekend for its sought-after Sunday roasts.

Meanwhile, another venue over in Jesmond has attracted the attention of TV stars and footballers with its Sunday lunch offering. Having long been a popular haunt in Ponteland before its closure in 2019, Branches added a new string to its bow by opening up in the thriving Osborne Road area in 2018, and has got a lot of diners talking about its roast dinners.
Over the last few years, as well as plenty of locals heading there for a roast, Branches' ever-growing list of celebrity fans includes Newcastle United star Kieran Trippier and Geordie Shore stars Charlotte Crosby and Sophie Kasaei. Staff were also left delighted a few years ago when, during a trip back home to Newcastle, Ant McPartlin headed to Branches for a Christmas meal.
Earlier this year, several Sunday lunch restaurants across the North East were also name checked in OpenTable's Top 100 list of pubs, restaurants and cafes across the UK. But where is your number one favourite place to enjoy a roast dinner in Newcastle?
