Where to go clubbing in London this Halloween

Fake blood and glow-in-the-dark devil horns at the ready: the haunting hour is almost upon us.

Halloween is always a big one when it comes to clubbing, with the capital’s venues getting into the spooky swing of things by hosting themed nights and dipping into the darker end of the musical spectrum.

With October 31 falling on a Thursday this year, there are a number of opportunities to go out and get your gruesome groove on. The busiest time was this weekend just gone, although there are some parties on the night itself and the following weekend.

Tickets always sell out pretty quickly, so it’s a good idea to buy early and avoid any frights on the night.

Ministry of Sound’s Halloween Rave

Never mind the secret line-up — this one is always packed to the rafters, so be sure to buy in advance. Four rooms will span house, bass, hip-hop, grime, trap, R&B, disco, house and techno. Costumes are a must.

Thursday October 31, Ministry of Sound, 103 Gaunt Street, SE1 6DP, ministryofsound.com

Brixton Horror Story

With four costume themes — “asylum”, “freak show”, “coven” and “apocalypse” — this one is set to be quite the departure from Phonox’s usual jeans-and-t-shirt-techno crowd. The music policy for this one is “the deathly sounds of all things Americana”.

Thursday October 31, Phonox, 418 Brixton Road, SW9 7AY, phonox.co.uk

Expect six rooms of house, drum’n’bass, UK garage and bass at this Halloween bash down in Vauxhall.
