Yahoo News Where Coronation Street fans recognise newcomer Kel from
If new Coronation Street character Kel looked familiar to you, that's probably because he's already appeared in two other rather well-known soaps.
In Corrie, the Joseph Alessi character is Gemma and Paul's stepfather, and will form the centre of a historic child sex abuse storyline when its revealed that he groomed Paul when the latter was young.
Alessi may look recognisable to soap fans, because he's actually also appeared in EastEnders. There he played the role of top dog inmate Fraser during Mick Carter's prison storyline.
During those scenes, he made Mick's life in prison worse by alienating him from the other inmates.
But that's not all.
The actor has also appeared in Holby City, playing the part of Bobby Price for one episode all the way back in 2002.
Next week, Coronation Street's abuse storyline will take a new turn as Billy Mayhew learns the truth about Paul's harrowing past with Kel.
Paul will become increasingly unsettled as he sees Kel back in the family's life, and he later confides in Billy about the truth of what really happened.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
