Where is the most expensive place in Belfast for Christmas Day lunch?

Christmas is less than 100 days away and hotels across Belfast are getting into the festive swing early ahead of the big day.

Many of us opt to spend Christmas Day at home with family and friends but others prefer to leave the turkey basting and roasting to the experts at some of our top local restaurants.

And while you can expect to pay a premium for turkey and all the trimmings on Christmas Day, it doesn't appear to have put people off given the number of venues taking bookings for December 25th since mid-summer.

The most expensive dinner for a family of four this year comes in at just over £1,090 while the cheapest will set you back in the region of £360.

We've rounded up some of the most expensive hotels across the city to dine on your Christmas lunch if you don't fancy the stress of cooking this year or any arguments about who does the washing up!

The Merchant Hotel

The Merchant Hotel in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter is known for having one of the most expensive Christmas Day lunches in Northern Ireland, costing £345 per adult or £200 per child (12 years and under). Once again it tops the festive budget tree, with a choice of dining options available.

The Great Room Restaurant's six course menu includes a glass of bubbly on arrival, complemented by a selection of canapés, before your main meal.

Or you can even transport yourself back to the Art Deco glamour of 1930s New York this Christmas Day and enjoy a mouth-watering six course menu created by Michael Weber, Head Chef around the corner in its sister venue, Berts Jazz Bar, priced at £240 per adult and £140 per child.

Relax, indulge and celebrate Christmas in the cosy surrounds of The Cloth Ear, with a delicious, traditional festive menu and tasty tipples to suit all tastes, priced at £155 per adult or £85 per child.

Grand Central Hotel

This luxurious hotel offers a lavish Christmas Day lunch with the Seahorse Restaurant serving a six-course fine dining menu for £210 per adult or £130 per child (12 and under) while the Grand Café offers a four-course meal for £175 per adult or £110 for a child.

Europa Hotel

The Europa is renowned for its Christmas Day Grand Buffet Lunch. You’ll be welcomed with a choice of mulled wine or prosecco, accompanied by canapés, followed by an extravagant buffet filled with festive favourites and seasonal delights. It's priced at £145 per adult, £85 per child while under 3s are free.

Titanic Hotel

This hotel offers a four-course menu of modern Northern Irish dishes, plus festive music, cocktails, mocktails and a gift for the children. It's priced at £195 per adult, teens (12-16 years) are £97.50 each while children (11 and under) will have a choice of meals from the Junior Sailor Menu.

The Fitzwilliam

Make your Christmas Day magical this year at The Fitzwilliam Hotel beginning with a champagne reception at 1pm followed by a six-course lunch served in the elegant surroundings of The Restaurant at 1:30pm.. Christmas Day lunch is priced at £200 per adult or £95 for children (6-12yr old).

Crowne Plaza Belfast

This hotel on the outskirts of the city offers a Christmas Grand Carvery with a fabulous selection of gourmet starters, succulent roasts with all the festive trimmings, and desserts to die for in the sumptuous setting of the Grand Ballroom. The four-course carvery with tea/coffee is priced at adults £120, children £60 (3-12 years old) with under 2s complimentary.

The Malone Hotel

Enjoy a festive six-course feast in the hotel's Gallery Restaurant, which is priced at £130 per adult or £55 per child.
