It's been ten years since The Vampire Diaries first took a bite out of the ratings, but you wouldn't know it by looking at the cast today.

Like the vampires they played on the show, the stars of The Vampire Diaries haven't seemed to age a day. Good skincare isn't the only thing that's been on their minds, though. Your favourites have all kept pretty busy since the supernatural drama ended on March 10, 2017.

Grab some garlic and join us as we revisit Mystic Falls and find out what the cast have been up to since they left The Vampire Diaries.

Afraid that she'd struggle to find work once The Vampire Diaries came to an end, Nina decided to jump the gun and leave before that could happen, quitting the show after season six.

Since then, she went on to star in a number of movies, including xXx: Return of Xander Cage, Flatliners and Run This Town.

Nina's latest project is the CBS comedy show Fam, which was unfortunately cancelled after just one season. However, that didn't stop her from winning a Teen Choice Award for Best TV Actress in the comedy section earlier this year.

Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvatore)

Since Wesley signed off as the loveable vampire Stefan, he's since appeared in a few different projects, including Robot Chicken, the documentary Medal of Honor and the thriller series Tell Me a Story.

That's not all though. When he's not acting in front of the camera, Wesley also enjoys directing TV shows as well. Since helming a few instalments of The Vampire Diaries, he's gone on to direct a few episodes of other programs that run in a similar vein *ahem*, including Shadowhunters and the rebooted series Roswell, New Mexico.

Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore)

Lost star Ian Somerhalder just can't let go of vampires it seems. After playing Damon for eight seasons of The Vampire Diaries, he's now set to star in a new Netflix show called V-Wars which will throw him headfirst into a conflict between vampires and humans.

Not only will Somerhalder play the lead role of Dr Luther Swann, but he's also acting as a creative force behind the show, executive producing your next favourite TV binge.

Kat Graham (Bonnie Bennett)

Since playing a witch on the show, Kat Graham has cast her spell over a number of movie projects, including the Tupac biography All Eyez on Me, the Netflix movie How It Ends and a Christmas film called The Holiday Calendar. On top of that, Graham also voices April O'Neil on the animated reboot Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Next up is a role in RZA's heist movie Cut Throat City, where she'll star alongside Terrence Howard, Ethan Hawke and another actor who's more than just a tad familiar with vampires too – Wesley Snipes.

Steven R McQueen (Jeremy Gilbert)

Since leaving The Vampire Diaries in 2015, Steve McQueen's grandson briefly starred in Chicago P.D. and took on a recurring role in Chicago Fire as well. That only lasted for a year though, so Steven next appeared in the anthology series Medal of Honor alongside fellow Vampire Diaries alum Paul Wesley.

McQueen was last seen on screen reprising the role of Jeremy Gilbert in The Vampire Diaries spin-off, Legacies. 'We're Being Punked, Pedro' saw Alaric turn to Gilbert for advice after a gargoyle begins to wreak havoc in the town. So, just a usual day in Mystic Falls, then.

Candice King (Caroline Forbes)

Caroline had an even more tumultuous journey on the show than most before she eventually married Stefan, but Candice's career since The Vampire Diaries finished hasn't been quite as action-packed.

Longtime fans of the franchise will already be aware that she reprised the role of Caroline last year on The Originals and aside from that, her only other acting credit from the past few years is a guest spot on The Orville, Seth MacFarlane's sci-fi sitcom.

Joseph Morgan (Klaus Mikaelson)

Klaus was always one of the most powerful bloodsuckers on The Vampire Diaries, so it's only fitting that he'd go on to star as the male lead in a new spin-off show called The Originals.

After that role also came to an end in April 2018, Morgan has kept himself pretty busy. Not only did he nab a recurring role as Jed on Animal Kingdom season four, but he'll soon return to our screens in a new adaptation of Brave New World alongside the likes of Harry Lloyd, Alden Ehrenreich and Demi Moore.
