If you enjoyed watching half of The Inbetweeners and that guy from Chalet Girl (don't say you haven't watched it, you're lying) selling double glazed windows in the 1980s, you're in for a treat.

The BBC has confirmed that White Gold – starring Ed Westwick, James Buckley and Joe Thomas – has officially been given a second series of six episodes, that will film in Essex later this year.

Show creator Damon Beesley said: "It's both an honour and a pleasure to be working with the BBC again on a second series of White Gold. I like to think of it as selling them a series two conservatory to go with their series one patio doors.

"I'm especially looking forward to watching re-runs of Top of the Pops '85 for 'research'."

Shane Allen, the BBC's comedy commissioner, added: "Vincent Swan charms his way back on screen alongside this outstanding ensemble cast for another series. The reaction to the first series has been terrific, with an enormous audience boost from the iPlayer box set release.

"In series two, the swindles spread abroad to cover the Spanish timeshare apartment gold rush. Expect to see Ed Westwick in some tight swimming trunks."

We're sold.

Digital Spy previously spoke to Westwick, who said that he had "major concerns" about trying to make his character likeable.

Buckley also told us that White Gold was a much better representation of Essex than TOWIE.
