White House Holds Hanukkah Menorah Lighting

President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden were joined by Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff for the White House’s menorah lighting ceremony, marking the fourth night of Hanukkah on November 1.

Emhoff, who is Jewish, led the lighting, and was joined by Chuck Schumer, the New York Senator and first Jewish Majority Leader.

“This is a White House tradition, but for the first time in history it is a family tradition,” said Biden, referring to Emhoff. Credit: White House via Storyful
