Former President Barack Obama’s office in Washington DC has been sent a package containing white powder – a day after a similar package was sent to Donald Trump Jr.

Police are now investigating after the package was sent to the building, that is currently being rented by Obama, on Tuesday.

The substance is thought to have been baby powder and sent in a letter from Hong Kong, according to Fire and EMS Battalion Chief Edward Smith.

It is not clear if the former President was inside the office, that he has used to conduct business since he left the White House, at the time of the delivery.

Just one day before the delivery, a white substance was sent to Donald Trump Jr at his New York apartment.

His wife, Vanessa Trump, was rushed to hospital after she opened the letter, that contained a threatening note that read: “You’re an awful person and now you get what you deserve.”

Tests found that the substance was corn starch.

Donald Trump Jr later tweeted: “Thankful that Vanessa and my children are safe and unharmed after the incredibly scary situation that occurred this morning.

”Truly disgusting that certain individuals choose to express their opposing views with such disturbing behaviour.”
