Crystal Palace have called a press conference for Monday afternoon in which the club will confirm the appointment of their new manager, after posting a video teaser online.

Former Ajax and Inter Milan boss Frank de Boer is the man expected to get the job, and become the full-time successor to Sam Allardyce.

The former England manager won nine of his 24 Premier League in charge to secure Palace's top flight status after succeeding Alan Pardew last December, before resigning last month.

Crystal Palace teased fans with a video on their twitter account mimicking the conclusion process when electing a new Pope, with ‘white smoke’ seen rising from the ‘Original Tasty Jerk’ takeaway next to Selhurst Park.

The press conference, scheduled for 2pm on Monday afternoon, will also see the club confirm its new shirt sponsor for the forthcoming season.

In a tweet posted last night, Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parrish said: “I have in front of me the only shirt printed with the new sponsor on it... Waiting for some big news to launch it with .. any ideas?”.
