Detectives are trying to trace a white BMW after a man was shot in east London.

A £10,000 reward was offered for information after the man was shot in the legs in Whitechapel.

The man was seriously injured after the shooting last September.

Six months on Scotland Yard have released images of the BMW believed to be linked to the shooting in Ernest Road.

Witnesses appeal: Two people who may have seen the car speed past have been urged to come forward (Met Police)

Police are looking to speak to two witnesses spotted walking close to the crime scene as the car sped past around 7pm on September 24 last year and anyone who was in an orange car seen nearby.

A 19-year-old man and two 22-year-old men were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in September. They have been released on bail until early April.

Detective Constable Barry Hart said: “On the CCTV it shows two people who seem to react adversely to what is going on, as if they may have heard gunshots.

Huge reward: Police are also looking to speak to anyone who may have been in this car (Met Police)

"Any witnesses to the shooting, or anyone who was in the area at the time, may hold the vital piece of evidence we need to prosecute the person or persons responsible for this crime.

“I would urge anyone with information to get in touch.”

Any witnesses to the shooting or anyone with any information can contact police on 101 or via Twitter @MetCC.
