Details on the cases of nine people recently dealt with at Poole Magistrates' Court.

BOURNEMOUTH

MARTIN BENGT ANDERSSON, aged 59 and of Cleveland Road, Bournemouth, found guilty of possessing a knife which had a blade that was released from the handle or sheath thereof by the force of gravity or the application of centrifugal force and which when released was locked in place by means of a button spring, lever or other device in Lytton Road, Bournemouth, on October 11, 2022. Community order made, whereby the defendant must carry out 150 hours of unpaid work. To pay £114 surcharge and £620 costs. Order made to deprive the defendant of his rights in knife.

ALEX WOODALL, aged 25 and of Lobelia Close, Kidderminster, admits being drunk and disorderly at Bar Republiq in Old Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, on January 29. Fined £230. To pay £92 surcharge and £85 costs.

CHRISTOPHER GEORGE HOY, aged 36 and of no fixed abode admits stealing alcohol to the value of £48 belonging to Marks and Spencer at Castlepoint in Castle Lane West, Bournemouth, on October 23, 2022. To pay £48 compensation and £16 surcharge. Also admits failing to surrender to custody at Poole Magistrates’ Court on February 20, having been released on bail in criminal proceedings on February 5. Fined £40. Also admits commission of a further offence during the operational period of a suspended sentence order made on October 5, 2022, for 15 offences of theft, three fail bail and threatening behaviour. No action taken on breach.

TRISTAN JONES, aged 48 and of Westover Road, Bournemouth, admits with intent to cause a person harassment, alarm or distress, using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour thereby causing that or another person harassment, alarm or distress and the offence was racially aggravated in Hove on April 9, 2022. To pay £150 compensation and £85 costs.

LEWIS RICHARD RAY SLATER. Aged 23 and of Paddington Close, Bournemouth, admits assaulting a man thereby causing him actual bodily harm in Ferndown on July 17, 2022. Community order made, whereby the defendant must take part in an accredited Thinking Skills programme for 29 days, take part in up to 20 days of rehabilitation activity requirement and carry out 100 hours of unpaid work. To pay £114 surcharge and £85 costs.

CHRISTCHURCH

HARVEY DANNSAH-APPIAH, aged 18 and of Monkswell Green, Christchurch, admits having a quantity of cannabis in Chichester on January 19. Fined £40. To pay £16 surcharge. Cannabis to be forfeited and destroyed.

POOLE

MARK MICHAEL KILLAHENA, aged 32 and of Patchins Road, Poole, convicted of stealing groceries to the value of £78.65 belonging to Co-op in North Street, Wareham, on October 5, 2022. Fined £80. To pay £78.65 compensation and £32 surcharge.

WAYNE JOHNSON, aged 49 and of Legion Close, Poole, admits stealing an Ottoman bench valued at £200 belonging to Julia’s House charity shop in Lower Blandford Road, Poole, on November 10, 2022. To pay £200 compensation. Also admits commission of a further offence whilst subject to a conditional discharge order for a period of 12 months imposed on October 18, 2022, for an offence of shoplifting. No action taken on breach. Also admits commission of a further offence whilst subject to a conditional discharge order for a period of three years imposed on September 7, 2022, for eight offences of shoplifting. No action taken on breach.

JOSEPH FERN MELLOR, aged 30 and of Radipole Road, Poole, admits assaulting PC Elizabeth Johnson-Byrnes, an emergency worker acting in the exercise of her functions as such a worker by beating her in Poole on April 10, 2022. To pay £150 compensation.
