Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked with a move for Bayern Munich star Corentin Tolisso, but it is the Gunners who may have the transfer edge.

The World Cup winner has lost his place in the starting XI following Niko Kovac's sacking and Hans-Dieter Flick's appointment this season, having missed almost the entire of the previous campaign through injury.

Tolisso, who has two years to run on his current deal, is now being linked with a move from the German giants, with the Premier League pair reporting joining the likes of Juventus and Atletico as potential suitors.

Though there may be reason for Arsenal to feel confident based on what Tolisso told France Football before his move to Bayern.

"Many clubs make me dream like Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and England with teams like Arsenal," he said in 2017.

"I like the Premier League and I think I am well suited to it.

"It is the league that offers the most competition, it is the most open, the most hard-fought and the most spectacular."
