Why Didn’t Kate Middleton Wear Her Engagement or Eternity Rings During Latest Royal Outing?

If you’re wondering why Kate Middleton skimped on the accessories during her latest royal outing, you’ve come to the right place.

Earlier today, the Duchess of Cambridge, 38, visited the Evelina London Children’s Hospital and caught our attention with her accessories (or lack thereof). Although she donned her gold wedding band on her left hand, Middleton didn’t wear her engagement or eternity rings, both of which she wears almost every time she’s photographed.

According to Hello! magazine, Middleton purposely left the rings at home out of respect for the venue. Since she was visiting a children’s ward, it’s common courtesy to remove any potential hygiene hazards, including large rings.

During the engagement, Middleton attended a creative workshop run by the National Portrait Gallery’s Hospital Programme. The royal mom of three wore a bespoke Dolce & Gabbana skirt suit, which she paired with black tights and her go-to Gianvito Rossi pumps.

This isn’t the first time Middleton has removed her rings for a royal engagement. Back in January 2018, the duchess visited the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity wearing only her wedding band.

Middleton received her 12-carat sapphire engagement ring when Prince William popped the question back in 2010. A few years later, the Duke of Cambridge gave her an eternity ring by Annoushka to celebrate the arrival of their first child, Prince George.

It all makes sense now.
