Three Premier League clubs are battling it out for Hull City winger Jaden Philogene this transfer window, with Everton, Ipswich Town, and Crystal Palace all interested in a deal.

Ipswich are currently believed to be leading the race for his signature but also major contenders to sign the 22-year-old are Everton. A bid submitted by the Blues, has been agreed with Hull, but with club insiders hopeful a deal can still be done.

If the deal gets over the line, it will be Everton’s fourth signing this transfer window, with Tim Iroegbunam, Jack Harrison, and Iliman Ndiaye already settling on a contract comitting their futures to the club. But despite Everton's optimism a move can be completed, they may need to turn to other targets.

Ipswich remain keen, with the Tractor Boys hoping a double deal will be stuck that includes both Philogene and defender Jacob Greaves, who had links to other Premier League clubs but is set to have a medical and play at Portman Road next season. An £18m deal with a five-year contract has been put on the table for Philogene, with Hull likely to favour this offer over the others. Crystal Palace remain interested but are an unlikely contender at this stage.

With Philogene’s recent form and his overall ability, there is no surprise in the level of interest emerging. On his preferred left side, he can be seen frequently beating the fullback he finds himself up against, driving with the ball towards the opposition defence with his rapid acceleration and a great deal of pace.

His style of play was able to generate tremendous stats for Hull City in the 23/24 EFL Championship season, producing 18 G/A in 32 appearances. Indeed, it was only last summer transfer window Philogene joined Hull from Aston Villa, where he represented at academy level, for £5m but that seems a clever investment with the Tigers set to bank a big profit.

There were reports that FC Barcelona was in the mix for Philogene, he has even stated that “La Liga is my dream” but has decided to choose the Premier League due to it being “the clearest offer I have.”

The agent of the player, Berto Camacho, was spotted turning up to Barça’s training ground, Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, last week uninvited, more than likely to further a deal for his client. Camacho appears extremely passionate about striking a deal for his client this summer, as he is traveling to gather projects from a range of clubs. Although his trip to Barcelona resulted in him being escorted away by security.

On Monday he appeared this time at Everton’s training ground Finch Farm. He took to Instagram that evening to reveal photos of him outside multiple locations across the premises, captioning the post with “Argh man! BRB (Be Right Back) another car park photoshoot!”

And so this saga looks set to continue with the next hours crucial to where Philogene plays his football next season.

But it's clear that wherever he does end up can count themselves lucky indeed.
